5. How Far Is It from Here?

A Diary (from/to) Antarctica

Mr.Nam spent a year (in/on) Antarctica.

He worked (for/as) a cook at Antarctic Jang Bogo Station.

He recorded his life there (on/in) his diary.

21/Mar

There is a garden (at/in) the station.

Today I picked some vegetables and (making/made) bibimbap (from/for) lunch.

Everyone liked (it/them) very much.

I enjoy (to cook/cooking) for the people here.

30/May

The polar night (goes/go) on.

(The moon/A moon) and the stars (are always/always are) in the sky.

I miss (the sun/sun).

It is really cold, (and/but) I do not catch a cold.

viruses cannot live here.

21/Jun

Today was Mid-Winter Day.

It is a big holiday (to/in) Antarctica.

We got many e-cards from (other/others) stations.

I cooked patjuk (to/for) dinner.

We wished each other good (luck/lucky).

10/Jul

Last night I (eat/ate) fresh fruit in a dream.

(Sad/Sadly), that dream did not come (truly/true).

(In/At) about noon, colorful lights danced (across/cross) the sky.

I took pictures of the auroras.

15/Aug

The sun finally (returning/returned).

Everyone watched the sunrise and (shout/shouted) with joy.

(At/In) the afternoon, the scientists went out to the sea.

They study sea animals in Antarctica.

(Work/Working) outside is very hard (to/for) the people here.

20/Sep

Someone saw a Weddel seal.

It means the end of the (longer/long) winter months.

It also means we (will/must) soon have visitors to the station.

The station will not be (a lonely/alone) place any more.

I CANNOT WAIT!

17/Nov

A helicopter brought a few people (to/for) the station.

I got some bananas from (it/them).

(How/What) a wonderful gift!

I cooked ramyeon for them, and they liked (them/it) very much.

I go home (in/on) two months.

I'm going to (eating/eat) bananas every day.
